Palm Springs Palm Trees - Indigenous?
As we made our way into Palm Springs, I couldn’t help being overwhelmed with the artificiality of the whole place. It’s existence is a middle finger declaration to the gods that humans could live in such a climate.
With a shitload of AC and water spritzers, we can do it.
There is a cool vibe there tho…with the infusion of retirement and gay cultures mixing into a welcoming brew.
But the nagging sense I would die quickly if modern comforts failed was always in the back of my mind. (What else is new?)
- Inside the bunker
Luckily, I was in a swank studio. The Thunder Undergound is a very well equipped studio that has a some of the nicest guys running it. Harper, Trevor and Matt are super talented and will insure the proper mojo is maintained at all times for maximum creativity.
Shorting the Market
This is the first time I’ve been able to record on an SSL console. This event couldn’t go w/o incident, as one of the talk back mics shorted. Here’s a shot of Harper intentionally shorting the console to debug it.
The geek boy in me was super impressed. Any guy that can take charge and debug 800k console by shorting it with a pair of needle nose pliers deserves my awe.
